Week 1 - Gosford City Bowl
The division bowled 173 average at Gosford with 17 200 games and 5 600 series. The high game went to Chris Prince 259, Rob Balkin 245, Dave Stenstra 242, Les Dunn 237, Brad Cook 234, Jared Kirkland and Peter Daly 233, Chris again 228 and David Chi and Mikel Petersen 225. The series went to Chris 672, Mikel 642, Les 632, Jared 617, Dave Stenstra 616, Peter 589, Rob Balkin 588, Robert Quinn 582, David Chi 577 and John Napper 572. The ladies high game went to Marianne Keith 193, Jodie Terry 192, Carol Stenstra, Helen Cios and Debbie van der Meer all on 182, Carol again 181, Helen again 180, Marianne again 178, Carol again 169 and Debbie again 160. The series went to Carol 532, Helen 519, Marianne 507, Jodie 489, Debbie 488, Leonie Ince 437 and Theresa Boyle 413.
Wetherill Park Wizards and Strathfield both won 10-7 to jointly lead the table after week 1. Windsor Roos and Windsor Ratters both won 9-8 to be equal 3rd. Very close start to the season with last place 3 points behind 1st place. The high game went to Wizards 847, Campbelltown Odd Bodz 792 and Roos 758. The series went to Wizards 2199, Odd Bodz 2155 and Storm 2121.
Division 2
Week 1 - Bateau Bay Tenpin Bowl
The division bowled a 125 average on very challenging lane conditions at Bateau Bay. We have spoken to the centre management, and they are investigating why the conditions were so difficult and we expect that the conditions will improve before our next visit. The high game went to Rob Ciacciarelli 195, followed by Peter Prince 187, Kevin Fox 180, Mark Goggin 179 and Tony Sutton 177. The high series on the day went to Kevin 519, Matt Burchell 494, Peter 477, Tony 451 and reserve Phil Meurant 447. The ladies high game went to Janice Edwards 182, Kay Ginger 179, Beryl Goggin 174 and 166 and Nicole Wort 159. The series went to Beryl Goggin with a personal best of 498, Kay 456, Sharon Murphy 430 and Nicole 429.
Windsor Whisperers won 15-2 to head the division after week 1, with Gosford Scorpions winning 14-3. Strathfield Stingers won 13-4 and Bowlarama Bandits and Gosford Gremlins both won 12½ - 4½. Bateau Bay Battlers and Wetherill Park Phoenix both won 12-5. The high game went to Battlers 620, Campbelltown City Chihuahuas 574 and Phoenix 571. The series went to Battler 1725, Chihuahuas 1626 and Phoenix 1624.
